UNESCO 25th Anniversary Conference
UNESCO 25th Anniversary Conference in Lviv (December 2023), highlighting the urgent need for technological solutions to protect Ukrainian heritage during wartime. Prof. Nataliya Chukhrai and the head of the University Project Office, Nazariy Andrushchak, presented the results of the participation of the university team in the international grant called “Aurora”, the purpose of which is to develop technical means for the preservation and protection of valuable works of art, museum exhibits from external influences, unwanted movements, and thefts.

Panel Discussion of the AURORA Project at the International Conference “Meet, See, Do”
The project was the focus of a dedicated panel at the international conference “Meet, See, Do: Preservation of Cultural Heritage During Crisis” in Montenegro, organised by the Balkan Museum Network. This event brought together more than 70 museum professionals from 17 countries, strengthening regional cooperation on illicit trafficking prevention and crisis response.

Preserving Cultural Heritage During War: AURORA Project Showcased in Milan and Mantua
From May 19 to 24, 2025, Vice-Rector for Research, Education and International Relations, Professor Nataliya Chukhray, and the Head of the Department of Architecture and Restoration, Professor Mykola Bevz, undertook a working visit to the cities of Milan and Mantua, Italy. The purpose of the mission was to present the activities of Lviv Polytechnic National University and the outcomes of the AURORA project, as well as to strengthen academic cooperation with leading European institutions.

Training of Restorers in Ukraine: Challenges and the Experience of the AURORA Project
On October 8, 2025, the Department of Architecture and Restoration of Lviv Polytechnic National University hosted a Round Table dedicated to discussing the challenges of training specialists in the restoration of works of art in Ukraine. Within the round table, in addition to discussing current issues in the training of specialists in art and architectural restoration, a presentation was held on the results of the international research project under the Horizon Europe program – “Unique Recognition and Tracking of Artworks” (AURORA).

AURORA contributed to the 27th anniversary of Lviv’s UNESCO inscription
