On 17–18 November 2025, the Hungarian National Museum and Ludovika University of Public Service hosted the International Conference on Cultural Property Protection. During the event, the AURORA project launched its publication “From Risk to Response: How the Heritage Sector Addresses Illicit Trafficking”, sharing European experiences on how to protect cultural heritage from illicit trade.

Case Studies of Illicit Trafficking
Experts featured in the book presented good practices from the field:

  • Amra Ćebić (Center Against Trafficking in Works of Art BiH & International Gallery of Portraits)
  • Aleksandra Stefanov (Museum of Vojvodina, Serbia)
  • Anna Lenchuk (Sorbonne University)
  • Lucian-Cristian Ratoiu (INOE 2000, Romania)

Panel Discussion on the AURORA Book
A lively debate followed with:

  • Prof. Dr. Nataliya Chukhray (Lviv Polytechnic University)
  • Dr. Lujza Varga (Hungarian National Museum)
  • Azra Bečević Šarenkapa (National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina & BMN)
  • Aida Vežič (Balkan Museum Network)
