13 – 14 April | L’Aquila (Italy)

AURORA project was presented at a two-day Conference and workshop on nano-materials: Nano-systems: research and applications on cultural heritage. The event was co-organized by the Accademia di Belle Arti L’Aquila (ABAQ) and AURORA on April 13 and 14, 2023 in L’Aquila, Italy.

The training aimed to provide theoretical, didactical, and hands-on experience to 28 students following the five-year academic education as heritage conservators. AURORA presented its innovative solution for preserving cultural heritage using non-invasive and non-destructive technologies such as chemical marking, miniaturized devices, deep-scan techniques, and blockchain-based platforms.

The project’s focus was on developing sustainable and cost-effective solutions that are compatible with the principles of conservation and restoration. One of the key discussions was on the role of conservators in scientific research projects. The event was a great success and helped to raise awareness about the importance of preserving cultural heritage for future generations.
